Advantages and disadvantages of indoor padel courts

Indoor padel courts in constant evolution

Padel, like many other sports, continues to evolve, and there are more and more indoor courts and Padel clubs available to us.

Previously, you had to cancel a match because of bad weather, rain or wait for the weather forecast to find out which day was the best to play. The "indoor" trend is increasingly in demand by players and clubs alike, as they can play whenever they like without having to depend on the weather.

However, indoor padel has its advantages and disadvantages! Let's find out together:

The advantages of indoor padel

Playing on a covered padel court means we don't have to worry about problems when it comes to playing, without being dependent on rain, wind, glass bounce due to humidity or sunlight.
With an indoor padel court, conditions are always optimal for playing the game.

The use of the equipment will not suffer any degradation. We all know that playing with wet balls makes them much heavier, and as a result, the racket will suffer more at the moment of hitting, with an increased risk of cracking. Rain will also make the balls unusable for other purposes.

Most indoor padel clubs have better-maintained padel courts than their outdoor counterparts, because they don't suffer from any weather aggression.

The disadvantages of indoor padel

More expensive
An indoor padel court is considerably more expensive than an outdoor one.

Ceiling height
Not all indoor centers have sufficiently high covered pitches for high lobbing, as many of these balls will hit the roof.

The arrival of summer
In summer, everyone loves to play outdoors, and enjoying the good weather in the sun is no mean feat.

There's no doubt that in this respect, outdoor tracks win out over indoor ones.

In short, there are many advantages and disadvantages we can find when it comes to choosing where to play our padel match. And what about you, are you an indoor padel player or an outdoor one?
