Earthworks

The first step to building a padel court

What does earthworks and soil removal entail?

Earthworks for the creation of a padel court are a crucial stage involving several processes to prepare the playing area.

Here are the main stages of earthworks to create a padel court

Site evaluation

Before starting any work, it is essential to assess the site to determine its topography, drainage and any other relevant factors.

Boundaries

Boundaries The surface of the padel court is usually marked out with stakes and ropes to define the exact the exact contours of the court.

Stripping and levelling

This stage involves removing all existing vegetation, such as grass, shrubs, etc., to create a more load-bearing surface that will not decompose over time.

Excavation

If necessary, excavation can be carried out to remove unsuitable soil layers or to create a solid base for the playground.

Drainage

A drainage system is often installed to prevent the accumulation of water on the land. This may involve the placement of small stones and sand.

Backfilling and compaction

It's a levelling layer that provides a flat finish or a slight slope, depending on whether we want to pour a slab for outdoor (0.6% slope) or indoor (flat) sites.

Once these earthmoving stages have been completed, the padel court is ready to be equipped with posts, nets and other elements required for play.
